If you have just arrived in Berlin from a foreign country and you still don’t speak the German language, you really ought to take a language course right away. And the Integration Course at BBQ in Berlin-Wedding offers the perfect opportunity for immigrants and refugees. The next course is in May 2016.
Financial Support for the Integration Course in Berlin-Wedding
The costs for the course are covered by the Job Center, if they have requested that you take this course; alternatively, you may submit an application for cost exemption for the Integration Course. This applies to immigrants and refugees who have at least a temporary resident permit (Aufenthaltsgestattung). Please send your application to the Federal Office for Migration and Refugees (BAMF, Referat 325). Those interested who have a resident permit (Aufenthaltstitel) should apply to their local Foreigners Registration Office (Ausländerbehörde).
The Integration Course has two phases:
- Part One: German Language Course with 600 hours of instruction
- Part Two: Orientation course with 60 hours of lessons on the German legal system and the country’s values.
Those who successfully complete the course and pass both final exams will receive the “Orientation Course” certificate. The exams are in “German for Immigrants” (DTZ) and “Life in Germany” (LiD).
